Migrating to our region
The Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 494) enables Australian employers in our region to sponsor skilled overseas workers.
This is to assist employers in regional and low population growth areas of Australia, where they have been unable to fill vacant positions with Australian citizens or permanent residents living in or wishing to move to the region where the nominated position is located.
Further information regarding the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494) is available at the Department of Home Affairs.

Regional Certifying Body
The role of the Regional Certifying Body (RCB) is to provide advice to the Department of Home Affairs (DoHA), using local knowledge to advise on whether the nominee for the position will be paid at least the annual market salary rate for the occupation.
Note: As of 1 July 2026, the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) will be set at AUD$79,423. Nominations must indicate a salary that is at least the TSMIT.
More information about the TSMIT increase is available on the Department of Home Affairs News page.
