Roger Stephan worked in senior roles in and for State and Local Government for over thirty years including ten years as CEO of Hunter Councils and CEO of Strategic Services Australia Ltd – growing the latter to be the one of the largest and most diverse local government owned supplier of services to the public and private sector in Australia.
As a consultant Roger specialised in business development, corporate strategy, corporate governance and the Visitor Economy. For a period of time he was CEO of Tourism Hunter.
Roger is currently CEO of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation and is at the forefront of strategies to build strategic alignment between government at all levels and the business sector. He is also a Director of Destination Sydney Surrounds South and in his private life supports a range of philanthropic activities both domestically and internationally.
